In 1716, a Cornish boy and 51 others were captured by Barbary corsairs at sea and taken to North Africa as slaves. Thomas Pellow became personal slave to the Moroccan Sultan Moulay Ismail and this was his home for 23 years. Signed on the title page by the author.
